We are producing a very different End of Year Show this year! It will be held on Sunday 20 November at Tom Mann Theatre in Surry Hills. The theatre has 156 tiered seating, a deep wide stage, full light and sound production and is equipped with an upstairs green room and change room area for performers. The plan is to have a dedicated Piano Recital at 10:30am and two (2) feature concerts at 1:00pm and 3:30pm. Each feature concert will run for approx. 75 - 90 minutes and have entirely different performances. Students will be grouped into either the 1:00pm or 3:30pm concert. We never had the chance to organise and produce this type of show at the end of 2020 (when we wanted to celebrate our 10 year school anniversary). This year feels like a good comeback year to make it happen. Believe us when we say, it's going to be a very different and a very special show the students won't forget. Our children are often filled with the sound of music, but sometimes lack the skills to channel their inner opera singer, musical theatre star, or rock god. Luckily, All Age Music’s Glee Kids program is specifically designed to bring out each child’s musical development in a fun and supportive environment. Through engaging them in song, acting and performance skills they will gain a lifelong appreciation and love for music. Glee Kids will be making their debut at the All Age Music Mid Year Concert where they will have the opportunity to showcase their improved musical abilities and get a taste of performing in professional environments. Through this dynamic choir they will build their self confidence and teamwork skills whilst improving their musical abilities such as harmonisation skills, singing, aural skills and ensemble work. Singing improves social, emotional and mental health outcomes for children, and with their newfound friends they won’t be able to wait to show you all the songs they’ve been learning! Classes are every Wednesday at Stanmore Studio’s from 4:30pm for children aged 5 - 12. Grab a trial pass or sign up for the whole term. https://www.allagemusic.com.au/group-classe/glee-kids/
All Age Music is moving beyond the instrument in our Kids Band Program. Unlike other conventional music lessons, by being able to participate in a band your child will fulfil their rockstar potential, enhancing their musical abilities as well as their teamwork skills and personal initiative. This program places importance on developing individuality and self expression, a benefit of learning music that is not offered by other after school activities. We aim to give children a taste of life as a professional musician by providing opportunities to perform in professional environments from live music events to school fetes and fundraising events. Group music sessions have been shown to be more beneficial than private lessons as they provide social stimulation, positive peer motivation, and have a higher rate of content retention and engagement. 40% of students make music outside of school, separated from private lessons, however our program addresses and encourages “peer to peer” music making. They are given the opportunity to express themselves by coming up with a band name and finding their own sound, under the expert guidance of their band instructor. Children are encouraged to take control of their own learning and music practice, building skills of independence,...

With the school holidays almost here, many parents and kids will be looking to get outdoors and soak up a backlog of overdue sunshine. However, monitoring your kids for many hours outside isn’t quite the luxury for a number of working parents. Adding variety between indoor and outdoor activities to your child’s school holiday weeks is going to be an important part of keeping them entertained and stimulated. Award winning music school All Age Music, understands that kids have already spent a lot of time online during the school term. It’s why they’ve decided to introduce a series of short bite sized digestible school holiday workshops instead of their usual week long programs. The one class that has already stood out to many parents is the Introduction to Learn Beatboxing. So what is beatboxing and what is its appeal to kids and youth? Firstly, beatboxing is a legitimate craft that can help people become better singers and musicians. It’s an acapella style of music making that primarily involves the art of mimicking drum machines with just the human voice. By using your mouth, lips, tongue and voice, the art of beatboxing can get very complex. Once you’ve mastered the basic...

Dear Parents and Students, Well it's not the ideal way to start the school holiday period with a COVID lockdown. However we need to do what's right to keep our community safe. As per the latest COVID restrictions, our Marrickville and Stanmore studios will be closed for room hire, in-person lessons and music camp until 9 July, 2021 or when COVID restrictions are lifted. Our Adult Glee Club locations in NSW are also on hold until further notice. We're hoping to resume in-person lessons with whatever COVID rules are put in place from Monday 12 July (when Term 3 starts). However, our team of teachers and staff are prepared to handle any changes that are thrown our way. MUSIC CAMPS - ALL CANCELLED It's really tough for us, but all music camps in Stanmore and Marrickville will unfortunately be cancelled. Students/families will have the first opportunity to roll their registration to our Spring and Summer music camps. For dates, please see our website and email coco@allagemusic.com.au to arrange the transfer WHAT HAPPENS IF COVID LOCKDOWN IS EXTENDED? Not to panic, we've been in this situation before. In fact our teachers are more experienced with online lessons now more than ever, and they'll be engaging in further...
