Whether you’ve got a notebook full of lyrics or just a spark of an idea, this workshop is your gateway to crafting your own original music.

Bring your own guitar, ukulele or other instrument if you wish .

From polishing your raw ideas into polished song lyrics to understanding the musical elements that make your compositions pop, you’ll gain the skills and confidence to bring your musical vision to life. Explore the art of harmonies, rhythms, and melodies as you learn how to transform your creative concepts into fully realized songs.

But that’s just the beginning! Discover what it takes to take your songs from the studio to the world as we delve into the recording and production process. Get ready to unleash your unique sound and share it with the world.

The Young Creatives Takeover features workshops suggested by and developed with former Young Creatives Awards entrants. All programs are delivered by young people for young people.


This workshop will be run by professional guitarist, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Solomon Steele. A local resident of the Inner West, Solomon majored in guitar at the Australian Institute of Music and has since become All Age Music School’s leading guitar and music educator.

Solomon is a prolific singer songwriter and session guitarist and talented multi-instrumentalist who performs regularly in the Sydney live music scene and can often be found recording in the studio for many upcoming and established Australian artists. He has a wealth of experience in working with many songwriters, covering many different styles and genres.

HABERFIELD LIBRARY is accessible from street level and has a lift inside the library to access the upper level.
